Grace
On February 4th, Dietrich Bonhoeffer would have been 110. However, he was executed by the Nazis on April 9, 1945, hanging on a scaffold just as Jesus the Christ did. Bonhoeffer must have been one of those who found God in the center of his being. He had a way of explaining the big truths like Grace and Love with remarkable depth and clarity. His words about Grace from his book The Cost of Discipleship have stayed with me since the first time I read them.
"Grace is free, but not cheap; the cost is nothing less than everything."
I offer this article from "Plough" today because I cannot do justice to his story as well as this offering does. And a Beautiful Question (as David Whyte might say) could be "What is the cost of Grace for you?"
