If you go to live performances very often, you know that hush which permeates a theatre just before the curtain rises. Frederick Buechner says Advent is like that hush. It is a stillness, an awe, an unknown calm when we remember how amazed we were, are and will be by God's answer to the world. Stop, look and listen in anticipation of the curtain rising!
