Mary Magdalene went and announced to the disciples, "I have seen the Lord"; and she told them that he had said these things to her. John 20. 1 - 18

We know the story well, but it never fails to excite. After the long season of Lent and then the painful week of Jesus' passion, we are weary and full of lament. But in the dark of night on this morning every year, there is renewed hope and understanding in the celebration of Jesus' resurrection from the dead. This morning in the sky, I saw this half moon lunar halo, and in the ear of my heart I heard..."my resurrection is only half the story. You must tell the rest of it."

And so we begin the season of Easter, a time of resurrection joy as well as teachings and reminders of what we are called to do in the face of this miracle. Just as we marked Lent with daily disciplines to remember the wilderness season of the life of Christ, perhaps this Easter season we might live with daily reminders of what it means to have seen the Risen Lord. As I said, my reminder will always be to tell the rest of the story...to live and love with gladness and singleness of heart in response to the Living Christ.

What does telling the rest of the story look like for you?

The Lord is risen indeed. Alleluia!
